This policy explains what personal information VivaTech collects, why we collect it, and how we look after it. VivaTech is a small computer repair business based in Rolleston, Canterbury, New Zealand. If you have any questions, email us at hello@viva-tech.co.nz.
What we collect
When you contact us or book a repair, we collect the details you give us: your name, email address, phone number, the type of device, your preferred appointment or pickup arrangement, and any message describing the problem. If you're a business customer, that may include a business name.
When you visit the website, your browser stores a small preference on your own device to remember your light or dark theme choice. This stays on your device and isn't sent to us.
How we use it
We use your information only to respond to you, arrange your appointment or pickup, carry out the work, and keep you updated about it. We may also use your contact details to follow up about a repair we've done for you.
Information on the devices we repair
To diagnose and repair a device we sometimes need to access it and, in some cases, the files on it. We treat everything on your device as private and confidential, and we never copy, share or look through your personal files beyond what the repair requires. We strongly recommend backing up your data before any repair, since some faults and repairs carry a risk of data loss.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone for marketing. We only pass on details when it's genuinely needed to complete your job, for example ordering a specific replacement part, or when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your details for as long as we need them to provide the service and keep sensible records of the work we've done, then we remove them. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Just email hello@viva-tech.co.nz and we'll sort it out.
Keeping it safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your information and limit who can access it. No method of storage is completely secure, but we treat your details with care.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy we'll change the date at the top of this page. Please check back from time to time.
